Petersen Automotive Museum Names Kahn Media Agency of Record

Iconic Los Angeles museum - an epicenter of automotive culture - chooses new agency for public relations and social media marketing as it approaches 20th anniversary

Los Angeles, CA, Dec. 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Petersen Automotive Museum has named Los Angeles based Kahn Media as its public relations agency of record. Kahn Media will be charged with public relations, media outreach and strategic communications to help the Petersen secure its place as one of the most significant automotive cultural showcases in the world.

Kahn Media, a PR and Social Media Marketing firm with deep roots in the automotive industry, will work with the Petersen to assist with special events, successful exhibit openings and increased media awareness and coverage of the museum. Kahn Media will also assist with social media initiatives and promotion to new markets.

Since its inception, the Petersen Automotive Museum has been regarded as the focus of automotive enthusiasm on the West Coast. Founded by publishing magnate Robert E. Petersen and his wife Margie in 1994, the museum is located in the heart of Los Angeles and features a constantly evolving series of exhibits and galleries, ranging from streetscapes depicting days gone by to design retrospectives and spotlights on cutting-edge technology including alternative fuels and aerodynamics.

"One of our goals as we approach our 20th anniversary in 2014 is to develop long term strategies to expand the museum's outreach and create innovative experiences that are engaging for enthusiasts and non enthusiasts alike," said Terry Karges, Executive Director of the Petersen Automotive Museum. "Kahn Media has a reputation for cutting edge work and we know they will help us exceed these goals."

The Museum's newest exhibit, "Aerodynamics: From Art to Science," presents an entertaining and enlightening visual overview of the landmarks of aerodynamic design, from the quirky 1928 Martin Aerodynamic and the 1940 BMW 328 Mille Miglia to the latest ultra-efficient concept cars of today. The exhibit runs through May 27th, 2013, in the Gordon R. Howard Gallery. Also on display is "Sculpture in Motion: Masterpieces of Italian Design," a look at the finest Italian automotive designs from the 1930s through today's modern supercars - with art, designs and a wide range of vehicles on display in the museum's grand salon through February 3, 2013.

"The Petersen Automotive Museum houses over 400 of the most stunning, exciting and important vehicles ever built, and we are looking forward to working with the museum's talented team to tell the world about these special vehicles," said Kahn Media president, Dan Kahn. "I started my career 15 years ago working for Petersen Publishing and I used to see Mr. Petersen in the museum parking lot - knowing we will help promote his legacy is very meaningful. We have incredible material to work with and look forward to ensuring that both locals and enthusiasts around the world know the Petersen Automotive Museum is a must-see destination in Los Angeles."
