DALLAS, Dec. 12, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Stream Energy, the global leader of energy network marketing companies, announced today that it is supporting the Utility Emergency Services Fund (UESF) for the third straight year with a charitable donation.
UESF is a non-profit which supports low-income families in Philadelphia. Since 1983, UESF has provided over $65 million of utility assistance to over 150,000 families.
"Stream Energy believes that every family should have access to affordable energy," said Stream Energy Chairman Rob Snyder. "We are pleased to continue helping groups like UESF serve the underprivileged. This year's donation raises the total money that Stream Energy has donated to UESF to $25,000 over the past three years."
"The past year has been particularly difficult for UESF due to cutbacks in our funding for vulnerable families. We turn away about 600 families a week," said John Rowe, executive director of UESF. Stream Energy's donation to UESF follows on the heels of a $10,000 donation that Stream Energy and its Ignite independent sales agents raised and donated together to the American Red Cross in response to the effects of Hurricane Sandy.
