Today in America Show Gives Back This Holiday Season

CORAL SPRINGS, FL--(Marketwire - Dec 17, 2012) - Today in America TV has enjoyed a landmark year in which they were the recipient of eight Telly awards, and saw increased viewership in many of their target markets. A broadcast known primarily for depicting the lives of mainstream Americans, Today in America is showing its thanks by giving back to underprivileged children this holiday season.

The primary means by which the show's producers will be doing so is through Operation Christmas Child. A division of The Samaritan's Purse, an international program, will provide needy children with a shoe box gift online. The shoe boxes are made up by the contributor and delivered to one of Operation Christmas Child's processing centers. All boxes are inspected by volunteers in accordance with the receiving country's customized requirements.

Today in America will be donating a staggering 100 shoe boxes to the cause. The staff members spent an entire afternoon packing the boxes to be picked up at a local drop-off point. All told, dozens of man hours and thousands of dollars were dedicated to the worthy cause.

This is not the first time the highly regarded staff of Today in America has given back to the community. Since its inception its producers and staff have donated a fair share of their time to charitable causes including, but not limited to, Soldiers Angels Germany, The Humane Society and the American Cancer Society.

Host Terry Bradshaw and the crew of Today in America are committed to providing viewers with insightful looks into the lives of real working people, their struggles and triumphs. Acknowledged as a documentary style informative program in the purest sense of the word, it comes as little surprise that they would want to address the very real problem of our world's impoverished youth.
