Convictions Under the Fisheries Act, North Shore Area


QUÉBEC CITY, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 17, 2012) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of fishers from the North Shore area fined in November 2012 for various offences under the Fisheries Act.

The fines imposed on the offenders total $2,250. The offenders are:

Fishing for cod and salmon without a licence. $1,000
Jean-Richard Joncas (Blanc-Sablon) Failing to comply with crab fishing licence conditions for the 2011 season by refusing to allow an at-sea observer to board the fishing vessel to carry out observer duties. $750
Ellias Martin
(Saint-Augustin)
Failing to comply with the conditions of his bait licence for the 2011 season by setting net on the water's surface. $500
