Wontok Adds Total Networx as SafeCentral Reseller Partner

Midwest Partner to Focus on Marketing and Selling SafeCentral Endpoint Security Solution to Financial Institutions Across the Region

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL--(Marketwire - Dec 18, 2012) - Wontok, a global cloud and endpoint security company, today announced a reseller partnership with Total Networx, a provider of managed services, disaster recovery and network security for clients in the Midwestern United States. As a result of the partnership, Total Networx will add Wontok SafeCentral to its suite of products and services, and begin marketing SafeCentral to its financial industry customers. SafeCentral locks down the operating system and process functions that enable malware activity and vulnerability exploitation on the endpoint, providing a secure desktop, protecting communications and transactions and deploying an additional layer of application security.

According to a recent study by the Ponemon Institutei, cybercrime attacks have more than doubled during the last three years and the financial impact of these attacks have increased by nearly 40 percent, or an average annualized cost of $8.9 million (U.S.) per crime. The highest external costs are a result of information theft and business disruption while recovery and detection are responsible for half of total internal costs.

"Companies are investing significant time and resources in online security solutions that simply do not address the volume and variety of threats that are out there, as well as in recovering from attacks," said Chris Gardner, vice president of sales, North America, for Wontok SafeCentral. "Financial institutions will continue to be the target of cybercriminals, which means their consumer and commercial customers need next generation technology to ensure that they can conduct online banking safely."

Gardner added, "SafeCentral protects customer credentials and financial information and has proven to prevent fund transfer fraud, identity theft, man-in-the-browser, man-in-the-middle and zero-day malware attacks, keylogging, password theft and session takeover; among other serious threats."

"When it comes to online banking, most small businesses are leaving themselves completely exposed to more than half of the online threats if they are using only antivirus solutions for protection," said Ryan Elmer, account manager at Total Networx, Inc. "SafeCentral adds a layer of security that will make online transactions safe, even if the computer is rife with malware. You don't have to look very hard to see the need for greater online security for banking customers, and we see tremendous potential for SafeCentral to add depth to current defenses and keep transactions secure."

Wontok SafeCentral is a secure session technology that renders malware inoperable on client PCs. SafeCentral locks out data-stealing malware while allowing secure access to local and online applications. It features patented technology that blocks malware agents from functioning as intended, protecting data-in-use, including authentication credentials, web session tokens, online account numbers, viewed financial data and other information that is accessed on the endpoint, presented on the screen and processed by endpoint applications and web sessions. SafeCentral is complementary to other security offerings such as dual factor authentication, antivirus firewall, IPS and encryption.
