Medecision Awarded Full NCQA Disease Management Systems Certification

Aerial(TM) Healthcare Management Solutions Platform Recognized by Leading Quality Assurance Organization for Proven Evidence-Based Systems to Support Disease Management

WAYNE, PA--(Marketwire - Dec 18, 2012) - Medecision, the leader in collaborative healthcare management technology, today announced that it has earned National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Disease Management Systems Certification for the full suite of Aerial™ solutions including Disease Management (DM) Clinical Programs.

NCQA is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to measuring the quality of America's healthcare. According to NCQA, employers select NCQA-certified DM programs because they are proven to provide evidence-based information and systems to support DM programs and they raise the bar by addressing patient safety and improving services.

NCQA-certified DM programs improve patient safety and health outcomes, decrease associated costs, and reduce inconsistencies in service delivery.

This distinction makes the Aerial care management platform a powerful solution set with full Disease Management certification, which covers asthma, CAD, cardiovascular disease, CHF, COPD, depression, diabetes, high-risk pregnancy, HIV, hypertension, inflammatory bowel disease, lower back pain, obesity, PAD, and renal disease. The certification covers the entire Aerial solutions suite, including Analytics, Clinical Programs, and the iExchange provider portal.

The NCQA evaluation program offers certification for organizations that provide specific DM functions as well as Clinical Analytics identification. These standards build on NCQA's years of accreditation and certification experience, detailed market research, and input from industry experts and other stakeholders.

"We're very proud to have earned this NCQA certification," said Katherine Schneider, MD, M.Phil., FAAFP, executive vice president and chief medical officer, Medecision. "It is a key consideration for our customers, and it serves as proof that the Aerial platform is built with evidence-based care at its core. As we execute our vision for connected care everywhere, our NCQA certification gives our customers added confidence that Aerial allows them to lead the way toward collaborative, patient-centered care."

The NCQA Disease Management Systems Certification is in addition to Medecision's existing NCQA certification for Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) software for the solution's ability to help healthcare organizations proactively identify opportunities to improve member health through interventions based on evidence-based medicine.

"Earning NCQA Disease Management Certification indicates that a DM program excels in the specific area in which it was reviewed, program design, patient outreach, or DM systems. It's an accomplishment to be proud of," said NCQA President Margaret E. O'Kane.
