Saxlund International Ltd. wins two new orders for Anglian Water, UK

Saxlund International Ltd., a UK subsidiary of Opcon the energy and
environmental technology Group, has received orders for their innovative bulk
material handling and storage to another two of Anglian Water’s wastewater
treatment facilities.

Anglian Water is the largest water and wastewater company in England and Wales,
operating over 1,200 water and wastewater treatment works servicing more than
six million domestic and business customers in the eastern counties of England.
With the new orders for the Marston STW and Harwich & Dovercourt STW, Saxlund
has now won four contracts for Anglian Water in the last year.

Earlier this year the company was tasked to develop a system for the storage of
sewage sludge cake at Anglian Water’s Thetford satellite water treatment works.
This project would also include finding a solution to load the material into
articulated trucks for transport to collection works, where the sludge would be
then taken for further processing. An order for a similar installation at
Bedford STW followed soon after.

Fundamental in winning these orders has been Saxlund’ s extensive experience as
a market leader in sludge handling and delivering industry leading flat bottom
silo technology.

“Saxlund is a market leader, in the bulk solid handling and storage sector, with
more than 60 years’ experience across numerous industry sectors. These include
recycling, biomass combustion and waste water. We are proud to be able to help
Anglian Water with their commitment to reshape its business around a low-carbon
model”, says Matt Drew, Managing Director of Saxlund International Ltd.

Saxlund and SRE are leading bioenergy brands and a part of Opcon’s Renewable
Energy business area and its Waste To Value initiative with a special focus on
Waste Heat Recovery and bioenergy. Within the bioenergy sector, Opcon offers
everything from the design of complete combined heat and power (CHP) plants to
handling systems and incineration plants under the Saxlund brand. Under the SRE
brand, systems are supplied for treatment and improved energy efficiency for
bioenergy-powered district heating plants, sawmills, pellets producers and
commercial greenhouses. The offer also includes flue gas condensation equipment
for industrial activities as well as drying systems for biomass. The Opcon Group
also supplies Opcon Powerbox for production of green electricity produced from
hot water or wet steam.
