INNISFAIL, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Dec. 20, 2012) - On December 19, 2012, inmate Bernard Starr from Bowden Institution died of natural causes following a lengthy illness at a local hospital.

At the time of his death, Mr. Starr, aged 48, was serving a seven year, four month sentence for Assault Causing Bodily Harm. His sentence had commenced on July 12, 2011.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
