CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Jan 16, 2013) - The Marriott Chicago at Medical District/UIC is proud to welcome Amara Koroma as its new Senior Catering Manager. Koroma is a valued addition to this hotel near downtown Chicago, IL, managed by Davidson Hotels & Resorts. Prior to starting his hospitality career with Davidson, Koroma was an Account Manager for Coca-Cola Products, where he successfully served as the primary contact for store managers to effectively build customer relationships by increasing business by selling and ordering products within designated sales territory.

Koroma is sure to open some new doors with the new Rush Medical Center located directly across the street from the hotel. The new Rush wing opened officially in January 2012 and is just a stone's throw away from the hotel's front door. The Chicago hotel package for Rush Hospital patients and Rush Medical recruits, coupled with Koroma's strong customer service sales background, will help lead to success in creating successful day meetings in Chicago's Medical District. 

When asked about his goals, Koroma responded that he wants "to grow personally and professionally every time a new challenge is placed in front of me. I want to help those around me reach their goals and aspirations. Lastly, I want to be an example to inspire and motivate youth to be productive members of society."

While attending Ball State University for his Bachelor of Science degree, he also played football as the defensive lineman from 2004-2008. After graduation, he continued his studies at Ball State and earned his master's degree in Hospitality in 2011.
