RADM Steve Eastburg, USN, Ret. Joins Smartronix as Executive Vice President

HOLLYWOOD, MD--(Marketwire - Jan 22, 2013) - Smartronix is pleased to announce that Steve Eastburg has joined the company as Executive Vice President, Engineering Solutions. Based out of the Headquarters office in Hollywood, Maryland, Steve has responsibility for leading Smartronix' strategy for providing mission-focused engineering solutions to a global network of military, Government, and commercial clients.

Prior to joining Smartronix, Steve completed a 31-year career in the U.S. Navy and most recently served as the Vice Commander of the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. Responsibilities included leadership of 37,000 professionals working at seven major NAVAIR sites across the nation performing research, development, acquisition, test and evaluation, and life-cycle sustainment of Navy and Marine Corps aircraft and weapons systems.

Steve served in numerous leadership positions supporting the Naval aviation warfighter. His command responsibilities included: Program Executive Officer - Air ASW, Assault, and Special Mission Programs; Commander Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division; NAVAIR Chief Engineer. He previously served as the Program Manager for maritime surveillance aircraft (PMA-290) and commanded Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Twenty (VX-20). His fleet operational experience was in aircraft carrier-based anti-submarine warfare squadrons, where he flew the S-3A/B Viking.

Steve is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering. Steve additionally earned M.S. and AeE degrees in aeronautical engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, and an M.S. degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School.
