IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Statnett, Norway’s national main grid owner and operator, will upgrade its existing IFS solution to IFS Applications™ 8 to streamline business critical processes such as enterprise asset management and project management. The contract includes licenses and services worth NKr 12.7 million. Since the initial implementation of IFS Applications in 2001, Statnett has been an important adviser in the development of IFS Applications for the energy and utilities industry. By upgrading to IFS Applications 8, the company will benefit from using a leading-edge enterprise management platform including support for key business processes such as maintenance, asset management, and project management. Statnett is embarking on a large investment program in the national central power grid. IFS Applications will play an important part in managing the increased project volume that this plan will generate. “We need to make sure that our IT systems can deliver the necessary information in an efficient manner,” Statnett CIO Peer Østli said. “Upgrading to IFS Applications 8 is an important step on our way to achieve our long-term goals. We believe IFS will deliver the required functionality to execute projects and manage assets efficiently and secure enhanced business control and transparency.” “Being selected by an important industry leader such as Statnett proves that our solutions deliver real customer value,” IFS Scandinavia CEO Glenn Arnesen said. “IFS Applications 8 has a large number of new and enhanced features, which will support and streamline Statnett’s core business processes. IFS has been working with energy and utilities companies since 1983, and we are looking forward to continuing our long collaboration with Statnett.” The implementation is expected to be completed in November 2013.
