EyeVerify Announces Beta Program for iOS and Android Smartphones Ushering in New Era in Mobile Security

Exclusive EyePrint Beta Program Features Full Technical and Engineering Support

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 25, 2013) - EyeVerify today announced a public beta of the industry's first EyePrint Verification System. Eyeprints are a simple safe replacement for entering passwords on smartphones. The beta program is designed to support EyeVerify beta participants seeking to integrate, test and deploy the next generation mobile authenticator. This beta program opens the next phase of adoption of the industry's first eyeprint solution.

Starting in March and running through May 2013, EyeVerify will offer an exclusive beta program for mobile security participants. This exclusive program provides access to the company's patented technology that uses built-in cameras within smart devices to image and pattern match the unique veins in the users' whites of their eyes, ensuring highly accurate, fast and convenient security for mobile transactions. The beta will include prototype applications, SDK access, technical and engineering support as well as quality assurance test plans and results. Beta participants can also take advantage of early access to commercial releases of EyeVerify technology.

Logging in, signing on and entering passwords or one-time PIN codes are major pain points for end-users and enterprises. Existing biometrics do not solve this problem. They are either not reliable or not possible on existing smartphone hardware.

Recent research indicates that in 2012, identity fraud incidents were at their highest levels since 2009, with more than one million victims having lost $21 billion.

"We're living in a world where we conduct our lives online and on the go, and yet we're plagued by password sprawl and identity theft and fraud," said Chris Barnett, EyeVerify's EVP of Global Sales and Marketing. "Eyeprinting solves this issue and, unlike other biometric verification offerings, is the first and only reliable mobile security solution that does not require additional hardware to deploy."

EyeVerify has identified a number of key market segments that would greatly benefit from this new class of mobile biometric authentication, including mobile device management, mobile app security, BYOD, banking, healthcare, mobile wallets and e-commerce, law enforcement and homeland security. The company is the sole patent holder for eye vein biometric solutions and was just awarded a second patent for how the technology works. Additionally, EyeVerify also today announced eyeprint validation results from the Biometric Standards, Performance and Assurance (BSPA) Laboratory.

This week, EyeVerify executives are meeting with mobile security experts at the RSA Conference 2013 in San Francisco and at Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, where the company is also being featured at ShowStoppers @ Mobile World Congress.
