Eagle Star Announces Successful Completion of Geophysical Orientation Test Outlining Prospective and Mineralized Units

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 26, 2013) - Eagle Star Minerals Corp. (TSX VENTURE:EGE)(PINKSHEETS:ELGSF)(FRANKFURT:E6R) ("Eagle Star" or "the Company") is pleased to announce positive results from a recently completed geophysical orientation test on the northern portion of The Bomfim Project (Target A1). The test line, which passes through drill hole BRF-03, was specifically selected to enable Eagle Star to cross reference geophysical results with geological information gathered from previous scout drilling in the area. Drill hole BRF-03 contains 16m grading 4.23% P2O5, including 4.40m @ 9.13%, including 2.4m @13.60% P2O5 (previously released results, see news release dated November 12, 2012). Post processing of the geophysical data revealed a strong correlation between geophysical response and drill hole logs, most importantly showing contrast between phosphate bearing target units and the underlying dolomite bedrock which is fundamental to tracking the shape of the mineralized unit.

The geophysical section also shows a tabular pattern that suggests lateral continuity of the mineralization bearing unit. Consequently, this unit is believed to extend along strike and to be open in all lateral directions. In addition, the section indicates that this unit reaches 25 meters thickness in this portion of Target A1.

"The success of this geophysical survey demonstrates that with the help of this new tool we are able to efficiently delineate the position of mineralized and prospective units between and beyond drill holes and pits. This is a significant step toward achieving our objective of defining a 43-101 resource on one or more of our many targets this year," commented Dr. Campos, Technical Director of the Company and an expert in phosphate sedimentary mineralization.

Following the successful demonstration of this geophysical method, Eagle Star has engaged the services of SIGEO - Soluções Integradas em Geotecnologia, to perform an extensive geophysical survey consisting of a minimum 16 line kilometres over selected areas of The Bomfim Project commencing in the PZE southern portion of the Bomfim Hill (Target D1). The company expects the final product to be a three-dimensional geophysical and topographic model that in conjunction with geological and geochemical data gathered from pits and drill holes will define the shape of the mineralized area in preparation of the NI 43-101 Technical Report and its resource calculation.

SIGEO - Soluções Integradas em Geotecnologia is a consultancy consisting of professors and researchers from the Universities of São Paulo (USP) and Brasilia (UnB) who specialize in developing and performing various Geophysical studies.
