StyleCaster Media Group Doubles Company Size With New Hires

Social Media Company Doubles Its Size With the Addition of Top-Level Executives From ESPN, Hearst, IAC's CollegeHumor, NBC and More

NEW YORK, Feb. 26, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- StyleCaster - the leading social media company for fashion, beauty and lifestyle – shares its hyper-growth momentum and impetus to continue to bring on additional top talent, by launching its official corporate site to share the details of its recent development: www.StyleCasterMediaGroup.com.

StyleCaster kicked off 2013 by adding ten new hires to its 50-person roster of established media industry executives from the sales, editorial and marketing realms. Having both doubled its traffic to more than 5.5 million Unique Monthly Visitors and increased its revenue by 200 percent since June 2012, the team will further expand its development, licensing and marketing departments, among others throughout 2013.

StyleCaster began its hiring spree in June 2012 by bringing on its first Editor-in-Chief Laurel Pinson. Pinson – who was formerly Managing Editor and fashion spokesperson for NBC Universal, and Online Editor at Lucky prior - expanded StyleCaster's content team upon joining the company with two key hires, among others.

Pinson appointed former Forbes Women and Time writer Leah Bourne as Senior Editor of The Vivant, StyleCaster's new luxury property, and brought on former AM New York Fashion and Entertainment Editor and writer at Theyskens' Theory & Helmut Lang Perrie Samotin as Senior Editor for StyleCaster. Pinson's team immediately enhanced the media conglomerate's traffic numbers by 220 percent in H2 2012 alone.

With its exponential increase in traffic, StyleCaster invested in its sales team to equate revenue growth by appointing Sam Stahl as its first Vice President of Sales to spearhead revenue growth, sales infrastructure, ad operations, client services, and sales.

Stahl – who was previously Vice President of Sales at IAC's CollegeHumor, where he led national ad sales and strategies that resulted in significant revenue growth– increased StyleCaster's sales team twofold by expanding its integrated marketing and client-side divisions with premium talent, including former CollegeHumor Manager and co-founder of Burringo Dan Arena, as well as Kelly Connolly, Jessica Prucinsky, Julie Putterman, and Malinda Greenbaum.

StyleCaster also welcomed Peter Tanapat aboard as the company's first Vice President of Product. Tanapat was formerly VP of Product at IAC where he created & managed a top revenue-generating division. With over a decade of experience in product development, he will further the company's development in both social media and technology sectors.

StyleCaster hired Gretchen Tibbits as Vice President of Finance & Operations to spearhead the company's operations and finances. Formerly Vice President at Hearst, where she managed four Hearst Business Media properties, Tibbits brings to StyleCaster a rich background in media development and operative scalability. Prior, she was Senior Director at ESPN Outdoors where she acted as Chief Operating Officer for this $75 million revenue division. Tibbits sparked a bout of hires, including Greta Gallas, who handled finances for Fuel Outdoor Holdings LLC, as well as Cailan Cassidy, who was previously with Diane Von Furstenberg.

Following StyleCaster's international expansion and acquisition of Makeover Solutions, which has reached 2 million organic UMVs, the company brought on Amy Solomon – former Vice President of Sales for Rakuten LinkShare, where she was responsible for the sales of performance marketing programs for leading global retailers - to lead the company's licensing division of Makover Solutions. Solomon's new team includes Rebecca Holland, who previously handled digital sales for Vitrue, among other New York start-ups.

StyleCaster brought on Noah Goldenberg as Senior Director of Analytics & Business Intelligence. Noah, who had formerly managed Analytics & Business Insights at TheLadders, heads up a new team focused on maximizing the value of data across StyleCaster's businesses.

Gretchen Tibbits, Laurel Pinson, and Peter Tanapat report directly to StyleCaster CEO and founder Ari S. Goldberg. Amy Solomon, Noah Goldenberg, and Sam Stahl report directly to StyleCaster President and co-founder David Goldberg.
