Canstruction(R) Calgary 2013: Gizmos and Gadgets 7th Annual Canstruction Event Builds Support for the Food Bank

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 12, 2013) - Whether you love 'em, hate 'em, or just plain don't understand 'em, gizmos and gadgets make the world go round. Watch Calgary engineers and builders unleash their inner geek as they CANstruct their favorite, can't-live-without CANtraption as part of Canstruction® Calgary 2013: Gizmos and Gadgets.

The CANtraptions take shape on March 14 at Southcentre Mall in centre court. 15 teams of local businesses and schools will be begin building at 9:00am and will have until 5:00pm to add all the final touches and finishing cans to their structures.

Canstruction® Calgary is a competition using canned food and other non-perishable items as building blocks. Teams create structures, which are judged, exhibited to the public and then de-canstructed, with all food going to the Calgary Food Bank. In its first seven years, Canstruction® Calgary has donated over $680,000 in food and funds. CANstructions will be on display at Southcentre Mall until March 21.
