OrthoSensor(TM) Showcases Intelligent Orthopedics at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons 2013 Annual Meeting

Company Unveils VERASENSE(TM) for Soft Tissue Balancing and Limb Alignment; Benefits of OrthoSensor Technology Highlighted in Video Abstract at AAOS Orthopaedic Video Theater and New Whitepaper

SUNRISE, FL--(Marketwire - Mar 15, 2013) - OrthoSensor™, Inc., the leader in intelligent orthopedics, will be showcasing its innovative technology, including the Company's new product VERASENSE™1, at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) 2013 Annual Meeting in Chicago's McCormick Place from March 19-23. The Company will be exhibiting in booth number 452.

OrthoSensor will unveil its latest intraoperative system, VERASENSE, which is designed to provide surgeons with quantifiable data on soft tissue balancing and alignment during total knee arthroplasty. OrthoSensor's VERASENSE is an intelligent, low-cost, single-use instrument system that replaces the standard plastic tibial trial spacer block used during knee replacement surgery. VERASENSE uses embedded sensors and wireless communication technology to give surgeons real-time feedback on soft tissue balance and limb alignment during knee-replacement surgery. With this evidence, surgeons can make informed adjustments to the soft tissues to optimize implant placement.

OrthoSensor's technology will be featured in a video abstract shown at the AAOS Orthopaedic Video Theater. The video, OVT#19, is titled "Quantifying Sagittal Plane Kinetics and Flexion Gap Balance in TKR's Utilizing Integrated Sensors" by Martin W. Roche, MD and Christopher R. Anderson, MS. It will be presented daily beginning Tuesday, March 19 from 8 AM CT to 6 PM CT through the remainder of the conference in Academy Hall B of the McCormick Center.

At OrthoSensor's booth (#452) in the AAOS exhibit hall, the Company will be handing out a new whitepaper highlighting the benefits of OrthoSensor's technology, titled "Intraoperative Sensors for Dynamic Feedback During Soft Tissue Balancing, Preliminary Results of a Prospective Multi Center Study."

"We are thrilled to be introducing VERASENSE, the first intro-operative system to combine balancing and alignment capabilities," said Jay Pierce, OrthoSensor's CEO. "Intelligent Orthopedics is a new field that harnesses the latest innovations in sensors, microelectronics and wireless communications with the goal of improving healthcare outcomes and reducing the cost of treating musculoskeletal disease. OrthoSensor is proud to have such a robust presence at this year's AAOS meeting and showcase the early value being realized from intelligent orthopedics."
