The Top Cloud Startups contest was run by CIO.com in partnership with Startup50. The process began when over 150 companies were nominated for this award on Startup50. That list of companies were narrowed down to 25 nominees and posted on Startup50, where readers then voted on the 10 most worthy startups. In addition to the voting results, the "Top 10" startups were selected based on the viability of product, competitive advantages and management team pedigree. The final list of 10 appeared on CIO.com, where a new batch of readers voted on their favorites. After a week of voting, Aryaka emerged as the winner.
