'Amazing Rock the Earth Race' Offers Unique, Challenging Team-Building Opportunity on April 21, 2013


DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - Mar 26, 2013) - Rock the Earth, a national nonprofit environmental organization that partners with the music industry, today announced a number of ways Colorado area businesses can get involved in the first annual "Amazing Rock the Earth Race." Taking place Sunday, April 21, 2013, the race will combine the excitement of the popular television show "The Amazing Race" with the global Earth Day cause (more info).

Colorado businesses seeking a unique, fun and challenging team-building opportunity can enter any number of two-person teams to compete in the one-day race around the Denver area, while supporting the environment and Earth Day. In addition to challenging employees to race in teams, businesses that sponsor teams have the option to donate any prize money to a favorite cause or charity. Corporate race sponsorships are also available.

Early team registration ends March 28, 2013.

Race Details
The "Amazing Rock the Earth Race" is expected to take up to seven hours to complete and will end with a party at the final clue location. Participants will gather at 8 a.m. on race day in the parking lot of Rock the Earth's LoDo Denver office at 1536 Wynkoop Street. Snacks, coffee, race t-shirts and numbered bibs will be provided and are included with registration. Following an orientation, the two-person teams will set off on a fun-filled hunt for clue locations throughout Colorado's Front Range, demanding physical and mental energy. Rules and criteria include:

  • Two people per team.
  • Race is limited to 75 teams.
  • All participants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • All participants must be able to drive and partake in moderate physical activity such as running, lifting, and hiking.

Prizes
There will be prizes for the first three teams to finish, as well as best-dressed team and a wildcard prize for a team that successfully checks in at all locations; First Place: $2,500; Second Place: $1,000; Third Place: $750; Wild Card: $500; Best-dressed: $500.

Registration and Cost
Early registration ($175 per team) is available through March 28, 2013 at midnight. Regular registration ($200 per team) will begin on March 29, 2013 and run until all 75 team spots are filled. Day-of-race registration may be available ($250 per team).
