SANTA CRUZ, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 18, 2013) - Mission Hill Organic Creamery, a sustainable and organically sourced ice cream business based in Santa Cruz, Calif., and Rock the Earth, a national nonprofit environmental organization that partners with the music industry, today announced that they will team to raise funds and awareness at Earth Day Santa Cruz.

"Earth Day is a reason to bring a community together and recognize the importance and fragility of our natural resources," said Dave Kumec, chef/owner of Mission Hill Creamery. "We are delighted to partner with Rock the Earth by donating all of our proceeds from Earth Day Santa Cruz to an organization that shares our values and ideals around building community and supporting our planet."

Earth Day Santa Cruz will take place in San Lorenzo Park in Santa Cruz on Saturday, April 20, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Mission Hill Creamery will be there scooping up its delicious ice cream and will donate the day's proceeds to Rock the Earth.

"We believe community-wide efforts will have the greatest impact on the ability to protect and defend our natural resources," said Marc Ross, executive director and founder of Rock the Earth. "It's through the generosity and support of local businesses that we are able to make Earth Day count. I would like to sincerely thank Mission Hill Creamery for supporting the cause. Together we can empower social change for a healthy planet."
