Heartland Transmission Project: Helicopter Assists Construction

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - April 19, 2013) - Homeowners and motorists are advised that a helicopter is moving equipment and personnel during Heartland Transmission Project construction.

While only one helicopter will be in use at any time, homeowners close to the construction area in Southeast Edmonton may see or hear the aircraft between 7 AM to 7 PM each day, as long as flying conditions are safe.

In addition, on Saturday, April 20, weather permitting, the helicopter will be used to string rope lines over the Yellowhead Highway on Edmonton's eastern outskirts. As a result, traffic on the Yellowhead will have to be stopped intermittently as the helicopter passes over the Highway. Although each delay will only be a matter of minutes, it will occur several times during the day. Motorists may want to consider alternate routes.

Safety - both of the public and our crews - is always paramount. The Heartland Transmission Project team asks that media and the public keep a good distance away from the construction sites to ensure everyone's well-being.

We appreciate everyone's patience while we complete this phase of construction.
