Vita 34 AG Improves Operating Result in Q1 2013

Leipzig, 25 April 2013 - Vita 34 AG (ISIN DE000A0BL849), the largest
private umbilical cord bank in the German-speaking countries, was able to
increase its periodic result in the first quarter of 2013 to EUR -20k,
following EUR -210k the prior year. Thanks to cost savings, earnings before
interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, EBITDA, increased
significantly to EUR 342k, as compared with EUR -27k the prior year.
Revenues in the reported period were EUR 3.2 million and, therefore, were
at the prior year's level.

Due to the ongoing stressed economic situation in Spain, and reticence with
regard to umbilical cord blood storage in Germany, the number of stem cell
preparations stored in Q1 2013 totaled 1,614 and was, therefore, 6.8
percent below the figure of 1,732 in the prior year's quarter. The
expansion of foreign business was continued in the reporting year, and we
expanded our successful cooperation with our Serbian partner Bio Save
d.o.o. to Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The first storages from these
countries are expected in the upcoming quarter.

Following the first quarter, the company is confident of being able to
achieve its targets for the full year 2013. Revenues are to be increased
moderately, and the operating result (EBITDA) is to be increased
significantly as compared with the prior year.
