DALLAS, April 26, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Stream Energy, one of the largest direct selling companies in the world, announced today that it has added residential and commercial electricity service in the Pepco service area of Washington, D.C.
The District of Columbia joins six states in which the firm provides energy service. The launch of both residential and commercial electricity service in Pepco provides and additional 260,000 meters to Stream Energy's growing footprint in the Northeast. The company employs a wholly owned network marketing subsidiary, Ignite, through which it gathers energy customers.
Concurrent with the launch of electric service in Washington, D.C., Stream Energy is now also providing commercial natural gas service to customers in the Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) service area of Pennsylvania. Approximately 41,000 natural gas commercial customers are eligible to switch to Stream Energy in the PECO area, where the company already provides residential electricity and natural gas service.
