This little boy is facing big issues but inhibits a spirit much larger than his illness, as he rocks out on his air guitar to Journey's "Don't Stop Believing." The song has become the most appropriate theme for Aidan as he and his family continues believing his donor will indeed be found. Aidan's mother said, "I trust my mom instinct about my child, and I 100% believe Aidan is more well than any of us. Some of his cells are sick, but Aidan is fine -- better than fine. When I think about the future, I see Aidan there for a long time. I really feel he has a high calling and this experience adds to his living testimony. I don't see it as a fight or a struggle, and I guess for that reason he doesn't either. It's just life, and we're living it." Though they are modest about their trials, we believe their state of mind is that of a hero and will prevail in this face of great hardship.

According to statistics, this year more than 130,000 Americans will be diagnosed with a serious blood disease. With Leukemia being the most common childhood cancer, 3,500 children will be diagnosed with the disease, and 700 of them will succumb to it. Due to the rarity of finding a donor, it's even more imperative for people to become donors. Despite the thousands of people who register, only 4 out of 10 patients ever receive transplants. Finding a match is like finding a needle in a haystack for these patients, and with their lives on the line, the value reigns much more priceless. Registering as a donor is easy, all it takes is a cheek swab. If a match is found, 80% of the time the patient needs stem cells which are extracted through the bloodstream, while the donor watches movies.
