SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - May 14, 2013) - RocketSpace, an open innovation campus in San Francisco, announced today the launch of RocketU, an education and talent business focused on professional development programs and placement for both technical professionals and entrepreneurs. RocketU students will gain access to curated learning tracks that enable them to independently select programs that meet their individual career objectives.

Michelle Berry, senior vice president of RocketU, will be responsible for the development, growth and expansion of the education and talent business within the RocketSpace open innovation campus.

"We are in the midst of a technology skills crisis," said Berry. "There are not enough highly skilled, technical software developers to meet current demand. The goal of RocketU is to develop well-rounded, next generation technical talent to meet the hiring needs of innovative, high-growth technology companies."

RocketU will offer a broad spectrum of technical immersion programs, developer boot camps, professional development courses and leadership education intensives to meet the needs of professionals throughout their career trajectory. The program is geared toward top performing, highly motivated professionals who view career development as a priority.

"RocketSpace is dedicated to building the perfect ecosystem of resources technology companies need to grow," said Duncan Logan, CEO of RocketSpace and RocketU. "Our open innovation campus will provide RocketU students with an unparalleled learning experience similar to the environment in some of the most innovative companies in the world as well as giving them access to potential employment once they're RocketU certified."
