Energistics Elects Dean Forrester and Matthias Hartung to Its Board of Directors


HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - May 14, 2013) - Energistics, the upstream oil and gas standards consortium, announced today that Dean Forrester, Managing Director in Accenture's energy industry group, and Matthias Hartung, Vice President Technical Data and Global Discipline Head, Technical Data and Information Management for Shell, have both been elected to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Forrester has worked with a variety of upstream oil and gas operators, including integrated, independents and national oil companies, in the development of technical and business architectures aimed at delivering measurable value and return on investment through the intelligent and appropriate use of technology.

On his election as a Board Member of Energistics, Mr. Forrester said, "I am honored to join the Energistics board, and with my career experience and relationships in the industry, I look forward to contributing to the advancement of open standards."

Matthias Hartung began his current role with Shell in June 2012 and is responsible for providing global functional leadership in technical data management and to improve quality and utilization of technical data globally throughout Shell. Matthias joined Shell in 1988, and has served in many leadership roles across Shell, in multiple countries including the UK, the US, Russia and the Netherlands.

Mr. Hartung said of his appointment, "I am eager to contribute as a Board Member of Energistics. It will be a very fulfilling position for me to be able to give back to the open standards community that I feel strongly about."
