Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund: Municipality of Saint-Louis-De-Gonzague/Ravignan Receives Funding from Government of Canada

SAINT-LOUIS-DE-GONZAGUE-RAVIGNAN, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 14, 2013) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs, Minister for La Francophonie and Member of Parliament for Lévis-Bellechasse, today announced that the Municipality of Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague/Ravignan has been granted financial assistance to modernize the building housing its community centre.

"By funding this project of the Municipality of Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague/Ravignan, the Government of Canada is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Minister Blaney.

The municipality will use this funding from the Government of Canada to refurbish its community centre. This work will include repairing two exterior brick walls, improving the building's insulation, replacing windows, and renovating the entranceway to allow for the installation of an elevator for persons with reduced mobility.

"Our government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," Minister Blaney concluded.

Information:

This assistance, granted in the form of a $103,675 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
