The Calgary Food Bank will be accepting donations with the FoodRide Team.

When: Monday, May 20 at 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Where: Garrison Woods Safeway (2425 -34th Ave SW)

"We aim to create an open dialogue around food security," explains FoodRide cyclist Adrian Arts. "Food banks were created as a temporary emergency service in the early 80s and are now a daily necessity to a growing population. As a country we need to re-evaluate how we feed ourselves and where that food comes from."

FoodRide left Victoria, British Columbia on April 25 and 135 days and 610 hours in the 'saddle', plan to arrive in St. John's Newfoundland September 8, 2013. Throughout their 10,000 km trek, Arts & Clark, along with Canada Safeway, are organizing 22 food drives with the goal of raising more than $100,000 in food and funds.
