Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund: Government of Canada Lends Financial Support to Comite local de developpement de Saint-Bonaventure

SAINT-BONAVENTURE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 16, 2013) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, today announced that the Comité local de développement de Saint-Bonaventure has been granted financial assistance to expand and modernize the building used for community and recreational purposes located in Saint-Bonaventure's Patrick Lalime park.

"By funding this project of the Comité local de développement de Saint-Bonaventure, the Government of Canada is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities," said Jacques Gourde.

The modernization project is the result of a consensus achieved among local municipal and association representatives following a vast consultation process. The initiative involves refurbishing and expanding the existing building, adding a kitchenette and handicapped access ramps, installing additional windows and renovating the building's bathroom facilities.

"Our government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," Mr. Gourde concluded.
