REALTOR(R) Foundation of the Triangle Awards 2013 Scholarship Recipients


CARY, N.C., May 20, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The REALTOR® Foundation of the Triangle Community Service Committee awarded eight Wake County students with scholarships from $500-$2500. Susan Tenney, Chair of the Scholarship Subcommittee said, "We offer our heartfelt congratulations to these well deserving recipients. We are thrilled to be able to provide some assistance to all of these hard working high achievers. We wish them the very best in their future endeavors."

Stephanie Chien of the Raleigh Charter School was awarded the largest scholarship of $2500. She maintained an un-weighted 3.9783 GPA while serving hundreds of hours of community service. Her varied community service projects included organizing events at the Ronald McDonald House, serving as a teacher's assistant at a Chinese school and creating a literacy program. Chien is also active with various extracurricular activities at her school.

Scholarships for $1000 were awarded to Hannah Moyles and Colleen Kane. Moyles is from Wake Forest and a senior at Rolesville High School. She plans to major in Science at Duke University and pursue a doctorate in scientific research. Kane is from Raleigh and a senior at Sanderson High School. She plans to attend UNC Chapel Hill and serve as a health professional after obtaining her degree.

Scholarships for $500 were awarded to Jacob Coats of Rolesville High School in Wake Forest; Lauren Longobardo of Holly Springs High School; Alec Martschenko of Cary High School; Tanner Erleman of Apex High School and Lauren Norris of Ravenscroft School in Raleigh.
