Escape of an Inmate From Ste-Anne-des-Plaines Institution


STE-ANNE-DES-PLAINES, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 27, 2013) - On May 27, 2013, at approximately 2 p.m., Jean-Pierre Duclos, an inmate from Ste-Anne-des-Plaines Institution, a minimum security federal institution, escaped during an escorted temporary absence in Montreal. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) has contacted the Sureté du Québec (SQ) and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Jean-Pierre Duclos, 56 years old, is described as 175 cm in height, his weight is 67 Kg (148 lbs). He has greenish-blue eyes, brown hair and a scar on his right cheek. He is serving an indeterminate sentence since October 4, 1992 for First Degree Murder.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jean-Pierre Duclos is asked to contact police.

CSC will be conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and is working with the SQ to locate this offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all available information to assist in the inmate's apprehension.
