Maikan Aventure International Receives Financial Support From Government of Canada

TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 27, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, announces that Maïkan Aventure International has been granted financial assistance for the construction of a multi-purpose building and the acquisition of specialized equipment.

"As this support of Maïkan Aventure International clearly illustrates, the Government of Canada encourages projects that help promote the economic diversification of Quebec's regions, in this case through tourism development," said Minister Lebel.

Located on the banks of the Saint-Maurice river, Maïkan Aventure International has been offering a wide array of year-round outdoor and ecotourism activities to visitors for nearly 25 years. The addition of a new building and climbing wall will enable the enterprise to expand its range of services, attract a greater number of tourists from here and abroad and pursue its growth.

"Our government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," concluded Minister Lebel.

Information:

This assistance, granted in the form of a $300,000 repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
