Beijer Electronics Annual Report 2012

Investments in future growth via product development, as well as the
strengthening of the global sales organization, have characterized business
operations over the past year. More can be read about this in Beijer
Electronics' 2012 Annual Report in English, published today on the company’s
website, www.beijergroup.com.
Several key product-launches within HMI, industrial data communications and
drive system technology areas are the results of the company having invested
more in product development during 2012 than ever before.

Focusing on industry-specific automation has been profitable, particularly in
the U.S. rail segment, where subsidiary company Westermo secured one of Beijer
Electronics' largest orders ever with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit
Authority as the end customer.

Even though the underlying world economic recovery was weak, the company
experienced strong growth of 14 % in the US automation market which outperformed
the market in general. Scandinavia also constituted a larger proportion of
sales.

In his comments on the year, President and CEO Fredrik Jönsson said:

“Focus during the year has been on our global sales efforts. We have opened two
new sales offices in Asia, in Malaysia and Korea, and hired a total of 20 new
salespeople worldwide. By being present in different parts of the world, we
reduce our sensitivity to economic fluctuations and create conditions for one of
our key competitive advantages – closeness to our customers.”
