Free LaMar's Donuts on National Donut Day to Benefit Salvation Army

Each Visitor to Receive a Gourmet Donut With no Purchase Required; Participating LaMar's to Donate to Salvation Army Relief in Oklahoma & Other States

DENVER, May 28, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In celebration of National Donut Day, LaMar's Donuts is partnering with the Salvation Army on Friday, June 7, to offer one free donut to each guest, with no purchase necessary.

National Donut Day is celebrated the first Friday of every June, thanks to a tradition begun in 1917, when women Salvation Army volunteers known as "Lassies" made donuts for soldiers on the front lines of World War I.

This year, LaMar's is partnering with Salvation Army chapters in western states to raise highly needed funds for a variety of humanitarian causes. Donation kettles are being placed in participating LaMar's locations in advance of National Donut Day. In addition, LaMar's stores are donating a portion of sales proceeds that week to The Salvation Army Oklahoma Relief fund.

"The Oklahoma disaster reminds us that all Americans have an ongoing responsibility to help neighbors suffering misfortune," LaMar's COO Matt Joslin said. "We invite loyal customers to not only have a free donut on us but also contribute to the Salvation Army's laudable work."

The free-donut offer is good for any regular donut already available. LaMar's Bars, Bizmarks, fritters and other products made without a center hole are exempted.

LaMar's Donuts are made fresh every morning with no artificial preservatives. Every LaMar's product is produced by hand from start to finish, beginning with kneading of the dough to the glazing.
