Government of Canada Supports Development of Alphonse Lepage Inc.

RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 5, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, announces that Alphonse Lepage Inc. received financial assistance that enabled the firm to expand its factory in order to increase productivity. The company is officially inaugurating its new facilities today.

"The Government of Canada sees it as essential to support an enterprise like Alphonse Lepage Inc., whose growth has generated new jobs in the region," said Minister Lebel.

The enterprise, which specializes in the manufacture of wooden doors and windows, successfully completed its project to boost production capacity and improve the quality of its products in order to continue meeting customer demands.

The financial assistance from the Government of Canada served mainly for a building expansion, the installation of painting rooms, and the acquisition of such equipment as kilns, a dip tank for aluminium and a profiling machine. This modernization project has brought about the creation of 20 full-time jobs and major economic spinoffs in Rivière-du-Loup.

"Our government remains focused on four priorities, as outlined by the Prime Minister, that Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of our streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and of course, their personal financial security," concluded Minister Lebel.

Information:

This assistance from the federal government was granted in the form of a $900,000 repayable financial contribution through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
