Closed Areas for Harvesting of Blue Mussel Upper North Shore


QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 11, 2013) - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec, wants to inform the Upper North Shore population that, in accordance with the prohibition orders mentioned below, and pursuant to subsection 3(1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, harvesting of blue mussel is now forbidden in the following shellfish areas. It should be noted that harvesting of Atlantic Razor Clam and Arctic Wedge Clam remains closed in those areas:

From Pointe à Émile to a point near of the sawmill.

Pointe à Boisvert (N-03.2.1)
From a point near of the sawmill to Pointe à Boisvert's navigation light.

Manicouagan:
Baie Saint-Nicolas (N-08.3)
From Pointe à la Croix to Pointe (Cap) Rouge, including Grande baie Saint-Nicolas and Petite baie Saint-Nicolas.
