VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - June 13, 2013) - Equinox Copper Corporation (TSX VENTURE:EQX) ("Equinox" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that it has completed the first three drill holes of its 16-hole drill program at its Binghampton Copper Queen (BCQ) volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) project near Prescott, Arizona. Following Phase I - where the Company was seeking to gain a better understanding of the copper oxide and sulfide mineralization on the Copper Queen Trend - Phase II is being conducted to target the shallow copper oxide mineralization already encountered in Phase I at depths of less than 50 metres from surface on the property. Of note, both the Phase I and Phase II drilling concentrate on an area which includes the past-producing Copper Queen mine.

Equinox CEO Corey Dias states, "We are pleased to have commenced Phase II of our drill program at BCQ. Following the success of Phase I - where we intersected shallow copper oxide mineralization - we are now focused on determining the extent of the shallow copper oxides on the Copper Queen trend. We believe that Phase II, if successful, could provide a basis for the potential delineation of a copper oxide resource, although further drilling would need to occur in order to make that determination."
