New RO-RO Service to Connect Houston With South American West Coast


HOUSTON, June 13, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NYK Line announces that a new roll-on/roll-off (RO/RO) service connecting Houston with the west coast of South America will launch on July 24, under the name: "NYK Chile Express".

The service adds a call to the Port of Houston Authority's Turning Basin terminals – the cornerstone of the nation's No. 1 seaport in handling project and breakbulk cargo.

The new service will include direct calls to South American ports in Ecuador, Chile and Peru.

The service will also include Manzanillo, Panama.

Each of the four countries ranks among the Port of Houston's top 15 trading partners.

The port rotation will be: Baltimore, Md. Jacksonville, Fla. Houston, Vera Cruz, Manzanillo, Guyaquil, Callao, Iquique, and San Antonio, Chile.
