Record Month for Volkswagen Canada

AJAX, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 3, 2013) - After another strong month, Volkswagen Canada has now posted record sales results for eighteen consecutive months. In June, 5,606 new cars and light trucks were reported sold by the company, 2% above last year's total of 5,500. Year-to-date sales of 31,337 are also at record-setting levels, 9% over last year (28,862).

"Never before have we been able to offer such a broad variety of exceptional vehicles," stated Maria Stenström, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada. "Our European engineering and outstanding dynamics set us apart, and our quality, value and fuel efficiency deliver what our customers are looking for."

Once again, the Jetta remains a best-seller, with 2,541 sold last month. Now more affordable than ever, the Tiguan compact sport utility increased its sales by 35% over last year.

With TDI Clean Diesel technology available on six different models, Volkswagen is able to offer all of the fuel savings of a diesel, without sacrificing drivability, interior space or cargo capacity.
