Tentative Agreement Reached with the Aircraft Operations (AO) Group

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 4, 2013) - The Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board, today announced that the Government of Canada has reached a tentative agreement with the Aircraft Operations (AO) Group.

"We are pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with the Aircraft Operations Group on a new collective agreement," said Minister Clement. "This settlement reflects the Government's commitment to reaching agreements that are fair to employees and fair to taxpayers."

The offer is consistent with agreements reached with other groups in the core public administration and aligned with what is offered by other public- and private-sector employers.

The Aircraft Operations Group includes about 400 employees who work mainly at Transport Canada and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, and whose duties include inspecting, licensing and regulating aircraft, aviation personnel, air carriers, airports and supporting facilities.

Further information regarding collective bargaining matters can be found on the Collective Bargaining Update page on the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat website.
