AltaLink Announces $100,000 Donation to The Calgary Foundation Flood Rebuilding Fund

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - July 4, 2013) - AltaLink today announced a $100,000 contribution to The Calgary Foundation's Flood Rebuilding Fund.

"Whether it was restoring power or volunteering in their communities, our employees were on the front lines supporting cleanup efforts in Calgary and across southern Alberta as soon as the flood waters began to recede," said Dennis Frehlich, AltaLink's interim president and chief executive officer. "As a company, we also see the need to support organizations that are committed to the rebuilding of communities hit hard by the floods. The Flood Rebuilding Fund will support a broad range of community needs in the months ahead and we see that as the best way to leverage our contribution."

In addition to the contribution announced today, AltaLink has provided hydrovac pumping services to residents of Calgary and High River, encouraged employees to contribute to Red Cross flood relief funds with a matching contribution program and provided time off to employees engaged in volunteer efforts through AltaLink's Days of Caring initiative.

"Like so many others, we have been inspired by the spirit shown by volunteers to help their neighbours as Alberta recovers from this flood," said Frehlich. "We're proud to be a part of this province and are thrilled to support The Calgary Foundation as we help to rebuild the communities throughout southern Alberta."
