Brown College of Court Reporting to Hold Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, July 27

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - Jul 8, 2013) - Brown College of Court Reporting, a leader in the field of court reporting with a national reputation for excellence, announced today that nine students will earn Court Reporting Certificates at a commencement ceremony, held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27 at the Northside Drive Baptist Church, 3100 Northside Drive NW, in Atlanta. State Rep. Edward Lindsey will address graduates during the ceremony.

"Two of our graduates, Julie Breedlove and Vonzelle Martin, are already licensed and certified court reporters who are working with a freelance agency as independent contractors," said Sue Schmith, executive director of Brown College of Reporting. "As our graduates have a 98 percent employment rate, we are confident that the other seven graduates will soon find work after completing their licensing exams."

The Department of Labor projects that through 2020, the demand for court reporters is expected to grow 14 percent. Additionally, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median salary as of 2010 for Court Reporters is $47,710, while the top 10 percent earn more than $91,280 annually. Brown College has been the starting point for many successful court reporters since it was founded in 1972, providing students with skills that are in high demand and result in a high placement rate.

Lindsey represents the citizens of District 54, which includes portions of Fulton County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2004, and currently serves on the Appropriations, Education, Ethics, Industry and Labor, Judiciary, and Rules committees. More information on Rep.
