Vacci-Vet Inc. Receives Funding from Government of Canada

SAINT-HYACINTHE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - July 16, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the firm Vacci-Vet Inc. has been granted financial assistance to start commercial operations.

"By supporting the startup of Vacci-Vet, the Government of Canada is showing proof of its determination to stimulate economic growth and job creation," said Minister Lebel.

Vacci-Vet is a firm in the pre-commercialization stage that will specialize in the design, manufacturing and marketing of anaerobic-style autogenous animal toxoids and vaccines. It intends to focus on the vaccines segment, which has very high commercial potential. Vacci-Vet has already developed a first vaccine to counter necrotic enteritis, a disease to which chicken, veal and pork are exposed. This substance is intended for commercial breeders and the markets currently targeted by the company are Canada, Brazil and the Middle East.

The funding from Canada Economic Development will facilitate the firm's launch, allowing it to acquire fermenters as well as laboratory equipment.

Information:

This assistance, granted in the form of a $185,000 repayable contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
