MOSCOT Announces Its Fall 2013 MOSCOT Originals Collection

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jul 23, 2013) - MOSCOT, a New York City institution renowned worldwide for its iconic eyewear -- The MOSCOT Originals, MOSCOT Spirit, and MOSCOT Sun Collections -- today announced five new style additions to its Fall 2013 MOSCOT Originals Collection: The BALEBUS, GLICK, OYGEN, VELVYL, and ZILCH.

The five perfectly recreated new styles, pulled straight from the Moscot family archives, and as beautiful as the day they were born, feature classic period details, and new colors first made popular in the 1960s, appearing in the Collection for the first time, including: Olive Bark, Grey Pearl/Silver, and Tobacco.

The Company will launch the new styles, along with its newly redesigned MOSCOT Spirit Collection, with the help of six sets of identical twins to reinforce the message that while The MOSCOT Originals and Spirit Collections possess separate and unique qualities, they share the same great DNA that fans expect from a MOSCOT frame.

Good genes really do run in the family.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The BALEBUS, GLICK, OYGEN, VELVYL, and The ZILCH retail for $240 as ophthalmic, and $270 as sunglasses, and are now available in MOSCOT Shops, online at moscot.com, and in specialty retail and optical shops worldwide.

Presenting The MOSCOT Originals Collection:

The BALEBUS - A "balebus" is someone who is resolute, indomitable, and steadfast -- qualities Great Grandpa Hyman so admired, he "invented" the "word" balebus to "identify" a "balebuster" whenever he saw one. Nearly 100 years later, we Moscots still love us a balebus, but think this frame may be a more appropriate way to "identify" one. Made from acetate with diamond-shaped rivets on the front and temples, a saddle bridge, and a real seven barrel hinge.

The GLICK - Great Aunt Ruth used to always say, "You are the glick of my heart," to indicate someone or something she loved. Odd? Perhaps...but, with attributes of The LEMTOSH, The MILTZEN, and The ZOLMAN all rolled into one, we're pretty sure you'll love The GLICK enough to make #YouAreTheGLICKofMyHeart not odd at all. Made from acetate with two adjoined dot rivets on the front and temples, a key hole bridge, and a real three barrel hinge.

The OYGEN - Back in the day, you didn't get your eyes checked at MOSCOT, you got your "oygens" checked...or at least that's what Dr. Moscot called 'em. Four generations later, we're happy to report you can still get your oygens checked at MOSCOT...only now Dr. Moscot calls them your eyes. Combination metal acetate frame with two adjoined dot rivets on the front and temples, and a real three barrel hinge.

The VELVYL - Good ol' Uncle Harold, aka Uncle Hesh, and his best friend, William, never met an adult beverage they didn't like. Heshy called William, Velvyl (a moniker earned whilst the two boozy buddies were farshnoshket). Velvyl wore these glasses, and only these glasses, his entire life. Ergo, The VELVYL! Cheers! Made from acetate with two adjoined dot rivets on the front and temples, a key hole bridge, and a real three barrel hinge.

The ZILCH - Close friends and family nicknamed Grandpa Sol, Zilch, which we are absolutely certain they meant ironically since Grandpa Sol was anything and everything but zero, nada, or zip. Or...they were mean. Either way, we love this new frame...and Grandpa Sol. Made from acetate with column rivets on the front and temples, a key hole bridge, and a real five barrel hinge.
