Alteva's UCaaS platform and VoIP phone system were first put to the test by Jimcor on October 29, 2012, when Superstorm Sandy hit the East Coast. During the disaster, Alteva's hosted VoIP phone system allowed Jimcor calls to be redirected to unaffected locations, cell phones and home phones. This capability permitted workers that were forced to operate from alternate locations to place and receive calls via the VoIP system. This, in turn, enabled inbound and outbound calls across Alteva's platform in a seamless manner regardless of location and device to maintain a 'business as usual' environment.

This enabled receptionists to quickly direct incoming calls and efficiently serve Jimcor's customers.
