Escape from Pe Sakastew Centre


HOBBEMA, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Sept. 7, 2013) - On September 6, 2013 during the 10:30 p.m. count, staff members at Pê Sâkâstêw Centre discovered that Simon Cardinal and Cody McIntosh were not accounted for. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Red Deer detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and warrants for their arrest have been issued.

Simon Erwin Cardinal is 20 years old, measures 185 cm (6'1") in height and weighs 100 kg (221 lbs). He has a medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair. He has a tattoo on his left hand. He is currently serving a sentence of 4 years, 2 months, 8 days for Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking or Recognizance, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Break, Enter and Commit, Operate a Motor Vehicle - Flight.

Cody Joseph McIntosh is 29 years old, measures 180 cm (5'11") in height and weighs 100 kg (221 lbs0. He has a medium complexion, brown eyes and black hair. He has tattoos on his left arm, upper back, and right forearm. He is currently serving a sentence of 3 years for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking or Recognizance, Break and Enter With Intent, Operate a Motor Vehicle While Disqualified, Unlawfully At Large, Take Motor Vehicle/Vessel Without Consent, Theft Over and Obstruct a Public Officer or Peace Officer.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Simon Cardinal or Cody McIntosh is asked to contact police.

CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offenders as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmates.
