terra20 Selected as a Stop on the Ottawa Sustainability Tour

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 11, 2013) - North America's largest eco retailer, terra20, is pleased to announce its inclusion in the Ottawa Sustainability Tour, as one of ten sites, and the only retailer.

The self-guided Tour was coordinated by a consortium of Ottawa-area sustainability groups, and seeks to educate people about the various efforts being made locally to foster and promote sustainability.

terra20's Pinecrest store represents the theme of Waste Reduction. The store carries many products that contribute towards that objective (such as those made from recycled and upcycled materials, or which reduce the production of waste), and is the home to the ecobar™, North America's largest cleaning refill station for eco-friendly products.

To mark the honour, terra20 is featuring a number of in-store vendor showcases between 12-4 PM on Saturday, Sept. 14, including waste-reducing local entrepreneurs Kitchen Cone and NaCoille.

Additionally, the Ottawa Learnery will be presenting its first education sessions on the topic of sustainability with the Waste Management at Home: 3-R Reboot presentation. Free half hour sessions will occur at terra20 at 3 PM and 4 PM. The Ottawa Learnery is a new non-profit social enterprise that promotes a community-based learning experience, offering affordable courses on a wide range of interesting topics in a social, interactive setting.
