Escape from Montee Saint-François Institution


LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 15, 2013) - On September 14, 2013, at approximately 10:45 p.m., during a headcount, staff members at the Montee Saint-François Institution discovered that inmate Rene Charlebois was not accounted for. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Surete du Quebec and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Rene Charlebois is 48 years old, measures 172 cm (5' 8") in height and weighs 93 kg (206 lb). He has fair complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. He has the name "René" tattooed on his left arm. He is currently serving an indeterminate sentence for second degree murder, conspire to commit murder, traffic in narcotic, traffic in schedule I/II substance, and participation in a criminal organization.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Rene Charlebois is asked to contact police.

CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.
