MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2013) - Flu season is returning to the Northern Hemisphere. It won't be long before the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) start issuing weekly influenza bulletins.

Prepare yourself for the upcoming flu season by protecting your health now. A flu vaccination is the best defense against the respiratory influenza virus, and it takes just a few minutes to get vaccinated.

Health Fair 11 and the MVNA are once again joining forces to offer Flu Fighter Clinics across the Twin Cities region.

People preferring to pay cash or check will be charged $29 for a flu shot. FluMist® nasal vaccine will be available for $32. FluZone® High Dose flu vaccine for seniors will be available on a limited basis for $50.

Flu Fighter Clinics are uniquely able to serve children. MVNA nurses can administer vaccinations to youths ages 3 years and older. According to Minnesota regulation, children under 10 years of age cannot be vaccinated by pharmacists and many retail pharmacy outlets limit the age to 19 years and older.
