The Florida RV industry is booming. Based on a report from Statistical Surveys Inc., motorhome registrations are up 29 percent and towable registrations are up 11.4 percent over last year thorough May 2013.
The 83,000 square foot facility will be featured on 30 acres adjacent to Interstate 4 in Dover, between the McIntosh Road and Forbes Road exits. The General RV super center will feature an RV service center, as well as a parts and sales show room. General RV will bring approximately 70 new jobs to the area. Lance Wilson, Florida Recreation Vehicle Trade Association, Executive Director had this to say, "We're pleased that a company of the quality and stature of General RV has decided to expand their footprint in Florida. It will be good for the industry and the Tampa area." Construction is scheduled to begin soon with expected completion in fall 2014.
