CITE Conference Unveils Inaugural Awards for Excellence in Consumerization of IT in the Enterprise

Conference Now Accepting Award Nominations Until November 1, 2013

FRAMINGHAM, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2013) - IDG Enterprise's Consumerization of IT in the Enterprise (CITE) Conference + Expo -- the first conference devoted exclusively to the intersection of consumer technologies and the enterprise -- today announced the call for nominations for its inaugural CITE Awards, recognizing the most innovative mobile, social, cloud and analytics technologies and solutions. Nominations for the CITE Awards will be accepted through November 1, 2013. Finalists will be announced in December 2013 and winners will be announced onsite at the third annual CITE Conference + Expo, April 27-29, 2014 in San Francisco. Visit www.CITEConference.com for full details, including the online award application and event updates.

"Companies' creative use of consumer-inspired technologies to drive employee productivity and satisfaction is just exploding, and the CITE Awards are the first to unilaterally recognize those efforts and their results," said conference chair Anne McCrory, VP of marketing and content Strategy, IDG Enterprise Events.

"CITE Awards will serve as another channel to share best practices and set the bar for future innovations driving the consumerization of IT in the enterprise," said Matt Rosoff, editorial director, CITEworld, the companion news website to the event. Rosoff's team plans extensive coverage of the CITE award finalists and winners.

CITE Award nominations are open until November 1, 2013; however, early applicants will qualify for special benefits:

  • Qualified nominations received by October 1, 2013 will be entered into an early round of judging in which several finalists will be selected. Nominees not selected for early finalist status will be considered in the second judging round.
  • Qualified nominations received by October 18, 2013 will be entered into a drawing to receive up to three complimentary room nights at the San Francisco Hilton Union Square during the CITE Conference + Expo (room nights available are April 27-29, 2014).

Each CITE Award recognizes an organization or initiative in one of six categories:

  • Best Internal App
  • Best Customer App
  • Best Business Computing Environment
  • Best Collaborative Project
  • Best Cloud Rollout
  • Best Smart Data Project

CITE encourages organizations to submit multiple entries in any category or multiple entries in different categories, although a single project can only receive one consideration annually. An independent panel of judges will rank entries to determine finalists and category winners, as well as a grand prize Best Next Generation Business award.

Sponsorships are now available for the spring conference as well as for the upcoming CITE One-Day Forum in New York City on November 5, 2013. Inquiries may be made to publisher Adam Dennison at adennison@citeworld.com and 508.935.4087. Inquiries regarding award nominations may be directed to Anne McCrory at 508.820.8529.
